With over 50 Minecom Leaky Feeder Systems installed in West Virginia, Minecom representatives relished the opportunity to revisit the area. While there, Minecom presented training sessions and took the opportunity to visit several mines.
A master training session for distributors was presented at Pyott-Boone’s head office in Tazewell, VA by Minecom’s Hamish McDonald (Mine Safety and Compliance Engineer) from our Australian office. “We were very pleased with the attendance and results from this session. The training also provided an important opportunity to talk with the technicians that are actually installing our systems. We want to thank all participants for attending and for the great feedback we received. It was particularly pleasing to see senior technicians from some of our partners/distributors showing such an interest in our systems.” said Anthony Hunter (General Manager of Minecom).
A one day training session for 120 Massey Energy employees was also held at Whitesville, in Boone County, West Virginia, along the Big Coal River. The training was presented by Pyott-Boone’s Project Manager Gary Sergent in conjunction with Minecom’s Hamish McDonald. Once again the training was very well received. The Massey miners have been quick to learn the leaky feeder technology and we are certain that the benefits of a wireless system will prove to be imperative both for safety reasons as well as for improved efficiency.
Hamish also visited Ellis Eagle Mine and Horse Creek Mine in West Virginia as a follow up to Minecom and our partners Pyott-Boone’s recently installed Minecom2000 Leaky Feeder Systems in Massey Mines.
Minecom look forward to continuing our alliance with Pyott-Boone by installing more systems throughout the US. We want to thank all of our partners for their great effort leading up to the June 15th MSHA deadline and for the excellent commitment with the installations over the past few months. Keep up the great efforts!
