About the Minecom Leaky Feeder Technology

A leaky feeder system consists of a coaxial cable which emits and receives radio waves
(which forms a Distributed Antenna System). Minecom’s Leaky Feeder System has
been engineered to exacting standards, utilizing small inline, bidirectional amplifiers to
boost the signals up and down the cable to overcome the challenges of communicating
in an underground mine or enclosed environments. Connecting the leaky feeder cable
to amplifiers, branches, terminations and other peripherals is quick and easy, with no
special tools required, ensuring easy ongoing maintenance and system scalability.

Minecom provides the only MSHA approved Leaky Feeder System without the need for
explosion proof enclosures.
